Access your plants at Farmers Bounty → My Plants
Dashboard Features:
📊 Plant Cards
Visual cards showing each plant with photo, name, location, and status. Click any card to view full details.
🔍 Search & Filter
Find plants by name, location, type, or status. Use filters to view specific categories.
📈 Quick Stats
See total plant count, active plants, harvested plants, and plants needing attention.
⚡ Quick Actions
Add new plants, log care activities, or update plant status with one click.
Plant Status Indicators:
- ● Healthy: Plant is thriving
- ● Needs Attention: Requires care or monitoring
- ● Stressed: Showing signs of problems
- ● Critical: Urgent intervention needed
- ● Dormant: Seasonal dormancy
- ● Harvested: Completed lifecycle
➕ Adding Plants
Method 1: Search Plant Database
- Click Add Plant button
- Search by common name (e.g., “tomato”) or scientific name (e.g., “Solanum lycopersicum”)
- Browse results from multiple plant databases:
- Perenual: 10,000+ species with cultivation data
- Trefle: 400,000+ global species
- GBIF: 1.8M+ biodiversity records
- Select the correct plant from results
- Fill in planting details:
- Location: Where it’s planted
- Planted Date: When you planted it
- Variety: Specific cultivar (optional)
- Source: Where you got it (nursery, seed, etc.)
- Quantity: Number of plants
- Notes: Any special information
- Click Save Plant
Method 2: Quick Add
For plants not in the database:
- Click Quick Add
- Enter common name manually
- Add basic details
- System will attempt to match with database later
Method 3: CSV Bulk Import
Perfect for importing existing garden data:
- Go to Farmers Bounty → Import CSV
- Download the CSV template
- Fill in your plant data:

- Go to Farmers Bounty → HuggingFace Import
- Enter dataset ID
- Map fields

- Click plant card → Log Watering
- Enter date and amount

- Click plant card → Log Fertilizer
- Select fertilizer type (organic, synthetic, specific brand)
- Enter NPK ratio if known
- Record application method
- System schedules next application

🌾 Seed Inventory Management
Access at Farmers Bounty → Seed Inventory
Adding Seeds
- Click Add Seed Packet
- Enter seed information:
- Plant Name: What it grows
- Variety: Specific cultivar
- Source: Company/supplier
- Purchase Date: When acquired
- Expiration Date: Viability date
- Quantity: Number of seeds
- Lot Number: For tracking
- Storage Location: Where kept
- Cost: Price paid
- Upload packet photo (optional)
- Click Save Seed
Seed Viability Tracking
The system automatically:
- Calculates remaining viability based on seed type and age
- Warns when seeds are approaching expiration
- Suggests germination testing for old seeds
- Tracks germination success rates
Germination Testing
- Select seed packet → Test Germination
- Enter test parameters:
- Number of seeds tested
- Test date
- Method (paper towel, soil, etc.)
- Record results after 7-14 days
- System calculates germination rate
- Updates viability status
Seed Starting Schedule
Plan when to start seeds:
- View seed inventory
- Click Generate Starting Schedule

Creating Detailed Locations
- Click Add New Location
- Enter comprehensive details:
Basic Info:
- Name (e.g., “South Raised Bed #1”)
- Type (see table above)
- Status (Active, Planning, Retired)
Physical Characteristics:
- Dimensions (length × width × height)
- Square footage
- Volume (for containers)
- Material (wood, plastic, fabric, etc.)
Growing Conditions:
- Sunlight exposure (hours per day)
- Soil type and pH
- Drainage quality
- Wind exposure
- Microclimate notes
Infrastructure:
- Irrigation system
- Trellises/supports
- Shade structures
- Pest barriers
